Dr. Solomon Tention currently serves as a Higher Ed. Administrator & Professor. SIM Companies is a single company that conducts business through a group of operating brands that are either subsidiaries or otherwise affiliated entities. Those operating brands consist of SIM Philanthropy, SIM Business Solutions, and SIM EDU Consulting.
He has several years of experience in educational leadership and mid management experience in secondary and higher education. He possesses strong attention to detail, highly organized and capable of incorporating innovative ideas into current systems to increase effectiveness. Dr. Tention has gained substantial experience developing student centered effective strategies with the ultimate success of students as his highest priority. He has implemented marketing, recruitment, diversity and inclusion, retention, graduation, placement strategies and best practices ensuring student success, enrollment growth, and graduate outcomes.
As a student success scholar, and student affairs administrator, Dr. Tention has authored several articles, book chapters, and publications, while has also conducted several presentations at various universities, and national conferences. Dr. Tention also serves on the Review Board for the Journal of Underrepresented and Minority Progress. Dr. Tention maintains a research agenda that focuses on Student Affairs, Cultural Competency, Diversity & Inclusion, Social Capital, Educational Psychology, Internationalization, Social Justice, Community Colleges, and Student Success.
He has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, a Masters of Education in Teaching & Learning w/ Specialization in General Education Instruction and Leadership and a Doctorate of Education with a specialization in Higher Education Leadership.
Vanessa Wilmore has a passion detail and loves helping others. She also currently serves as an Account Project Manager and Marketing Specialist for Tag & Associaties, a design and build firm based in Dallas, TX. Vanessa has earned an Associates of Arts in Construction Management and is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering. In her free time she enjoys karaoke, reading and spending time with her family.
Exeutive Director for External Affairs & Relations
Damian Glover is a native and resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. Damian is no stranger to higher education as he has been heavily involved in the field as a student and professional since 2013. Damian is a data-driven, research focused, and culturally competent leader who is dedicated to creating one of a kind experiences and systematic change. He has expertise in all areas of higher education, including enrollment management and student affairs, academic advising and curriculum design, institutional effectiveness and strategic planning, and advancement and fundraising.
Damian currently works for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System as the Coordinator for Student Engagement and State Director for SkillsUSA, the largest collegiate workforce competition and exhibition in the State of Louisiana. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Instructor for Northwestern State University and is a member of the NASPA Community College Board.
In 2015 Damian warned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Professional Writing and in 2017 a Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education, both from Northwestern State University. Damian is currently ABD in the Doctor of Education program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Nicole is an inspirational leader who uses her journey, as a first-generation college graduate, to inspire action while at the same time is grounded in years of expertise that propels students to success. Respected as a credible voice in decision making, academic advising and educational consulting, Nicole embodies the spirit of SIM EDU Consulting.
Currently, Nicole is a Professional Academic Advisor and Instructor of Interdisciplinary Studies for Nicholls State University. As a faculty member, Nicole is accountable for ensuring that affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in her profession.
As a passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity, Nicole uses her platform, in higher education and public speaking, to engage and inform all whom she encounters. She facilitates Diversity & Inclusion Training in Higher Education and provides private tutoring for at-risk students to decrease the margins within primary and secondary education. Nicole strives to create an open, inclusive, and equal environment in which every student has the opportunity to flourish.
Nicole holds a Master of Education in Student Affairs, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and is a Certified Professional Life Coach. Nicole is currently pursing her doctoral studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign.
Sr. Director for Brand Management & Strategy
Dwight Alexander's experience is concentrated in Business Operations and General Business / Management Activities or Functions, with exposure to Engineering / Environmental. Dwight has 7 years of work experience, with several years tenure in management, including a high-level position. Served in various occupational roles gaining over 15 years of workforce development experience.
Dwight's expertise focuses on developing a variety of leadership development programs designed to guide individuals to personal and professional success. In addition to serving as the Director for Brand Management & Strategy, Dwight currently serves as a Certified Housing Counselor and holds a Home Education Train the Trainer certification with Step Up Acadiana. As a counselor, Dwight is responsible for the development, training, and education of future and current homeowners as well as instructing Entrepreneurship with the Youth Financial Literacy Organization and Junior Achievement
Dwight has earned a Project Management Essential and Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification form the Management & Strategy Institute.
Public Realtions Director
Laura Willis is a future pioneer in the world of communication and public relations. As a student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Laura has demonstrated her abilities to lead and successfully manage all aspects of her educational and extra-curricular career. Laura currently serves as Miss Krewe de Bon Temps Amis 2020, an official preliminary to Miss Louisiana and Miss America.
She is also the head cheerleading coach at Sterlington Middle School and has received the Universal Cheerleading Association Coach’s Award for the past two years. Laura has served as a veteran member of the Hawkline dance team at ULM where she secured the Division 1-A Hip Hop title with her team. She is very passionate about contributing to the success of others because she believes that fastest way to achieve success is to first help others succeed. Laura not only focuses on encouraging those in which she comes in contact with to achieve their goals but to provide access to tools, resources, and connections.
In addtion to serving as the Creative Director, Ashlynn Gary currently serves as a Tutor/Mentor for the Center for Minority Excellence at South Louisiana Community College and a graduate with an associate degree in General Studies from South Louisiana Community College. Ashlynn has developed exceptional student leadership experience over the course of her academic career. She is now currently enrolled at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette pursuing her bachelor’s degree in General Studies Art & Humanities. .
